Virginia Land Conservation Advocates:
The application period for the USDA Forest Service Forest Legacy Program is now open for Virginia. The deadline for submitting proposals for this grant round is Thursday, July 20th at 5:00 pm.
The proposal and application materials for the Federal FY2019 grant round are now posted on the VDOF website at http://www.dof.virginia.gov/land/legacy/index.htm
The following information is available:
1) RFP document (giving details regarding the program and the application/proposal process)
2) Application documents (for either conservation easement or fee simple purchase)
3) Property data sheet (in case it is chosen as the method to provide conservation value information)
Application materials are completed by the landowner and provided to a Project Advocate. Project Advocates put together proposals for the program and submit them to our agency by the deadline noted above.
You are encouraged to review this information if your agency or land conservation organization, or your clients, are interested in providing a proposal for this program. Additional program information can be obtained by contacting me at the phone number shown below.
