A Heartfelt Farewell and New Beginnings
A Heartfelt Farewell and New Beginnings
Dear friends,
As I sit down to write this message, I find myself filled with a mix of emotions – gratitude, nostalgia, and excitement for the journey ahead. After 12 years of serving as the Executive Director of West Virginia Rivers Coalition, I am preparing to embark on a new chapter in my life and career with the National Wildlife Federation.
These next few weeks I will be focused on supporting a strong leadership transition for the organization that means so much to me.
It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside you and the entire WV Rivers community in our shared mission of promoting clean and healthy waters for all. Your unwavering support, dedication, and passion for clean water advocacy have inspired me every step of the way.
We have faced difficult challenges, celebrated successes, weathered setbacks, and forged lasting connections extending far beyond the banks of our rivers and streams. From community watchdog programs to policy advocacy efforts, each moment has been a testament to the power of collective action.
As I transition into my new role as the Vice President of One Federation with the National Wildlife Federation, I carry with me the fond memories and many lessons learned during my time at WV Rivers. I am filled with pride knowing that the powerhouse team we have built is more than capable of continuing the important work we started.
Through the end of March, I will work with the Board, colleagues, and WV Rivers’ Deputy Director, Autumn Crowe, as she steps up as Interim Executive Director to help ensure a seamless and stable transition.
While my physical presence with WV Rivers will not be the same as it has been, my heart and personal interest will forever remain intertwined with the organization and its mission. I am confident that under Autumn’s capable leadership and the passion and skill of our dedicated staff, WV Rivers will continue to be a driving force, uplifting community voices and priorities in West Virginia.
As I embark on this new adventure, I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for your support and belief in our shared vision. Together, we have made a difference in one of the toughest places to do advocacy work, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have been a small part of this incredible community.
I’m glad that in my new job I’ll still get to remain a West Virginia resident and enjoy our exceptional rivers, reminded constantly of the importance of WV River’s work. Please know that while my role may change, my commitment to clean water advocacy remains unwavering. I look forward to staying connected and continuing to support WV Rivers in any way I can.
Again, thank you for standing by my side over the years as we worked tirelessly to protect the rivers we love. It’s been your steadfast support that kept me inspired to grow the organization to what it is today.
For clean water and healthy communities,
Angie Rosser
